ABOUT . . . . . . . . . .

The Iowa Consortium for Applied Gerontology (IaCAG) was established in 2003 at the University of Northern Iowa to increase the number of service providers and to improve the educational opportunities for those providers in order to adequately care for Iowa’s aging residents. Seniors already comprise 15% of the state’s population, a statistic which ranks Iowa as fifth in the nation for residents over age 65, and it is estimated that 23% of Iowans will be seniors by the year 2025.

IaCAG was founded to help meet the needs of a senior population and service providers. Each of our sub-components was developed by faculty who have expertise in these areas and was overseen by a community advisory board to ensure that our services are applicable and accessible.
